eBay has long been a hub for Australia’s sneaker collectors, but the rise of counterfeits pushed buyers elsewhere. To launch eBay’s Sneaker Authenticity Guarantee, SMART created The Museum of Authentics — a world‑first exhibition showcasing some of the rarest, most valuable and fully authenticated sneakers.
The exhibit featured a unique collection of iconic, high‑value shoes, a one‑off prototype by YEEZY designer Cesar Idrobo, a Sneaker Freaker panel and a gift shop with P.A.M. collaborations. Valued in the millions, it was housed under 24/7 security at Neon Parc and promoted through social media, street posters, influencer co‑creation and a partnership with Sneaker Freaker.
The museum gave sneaker fans a rare look at coveted shoes and offered a fresh way for the community to connect. For SMART, it capped a year of building an immersive, social‑first experience amplified by PR and outdoor. It launched to designer‑style queues, generated national and global coverage across major media, and now lives on digitally with highlights from eBay’s showcase.
